oyster development program
2005 - The Oyster Development Program has been ongoing for many years, and continued in 2005 with the cooperation of the PEI Shellfish Association, Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Aquiculture, Department of Fisheries and Oceans and the PEI Employment Development Agency. The mandate of the program is to continue the development of oyster production in Prince Edward Island.
The 2005 Oyster Development Program was funded though the PEI Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Aquiculture and the PEI Shellfish Association. A proposal requesting a contribution of $100,000.00 towards funding for the project was submitted to the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Aquiculture in April 2005.
